Next Games


The next 1st XV match is a cup match away to Birkmyre on Saturday 22nd November.  The next 2ndXV match  is away to Newton Stewart on 29th November.  Meet and KO to be confirmed.

The next U16 game is at home to Argyll on Sunday 23rd November.

The U14 and Minis are also at home to Paisley this Sunday 23rd November.  Meet is 12 Noon.

Any of the photos on this website can be ordered for yourself or you can sponsor one of the photos to hang on the wall of the club.  Please review the various match photos and email the details to photo@clydebankrfc.com.

A selection of photos has been put together of those considered to be the best of the bunch and make your decision easier.  Click on the photo above to view the selection.

All photos will be framed in a clip frame and will cost £5 per photo.  Photos can also be provided in more elaborate frames, as poster prints, on T-shirts or we can even produce calendars and books based on your selection of photos.  Just email your request to the above address.

Membership Fees

Membership fees have been maintained at previous levels and Gordon McCombe will be visiting you over the coming weeks to ensure prompt and accurate payment.  Please make an effort to pay your fees as the club needs them and you are not insured if you haven't paid.  We would not like to name and shame those that fail to pay but will do so if the situation continues.

Member details should be submitted via the Membership Form which can be submitted by email or printed and handed to Gordon McCombe.


Clydebank RFC Email Addresses

The new facility will allow us now to provide free Clydebank Rugby Club email addresses to all members who would like one.
The email address will take the form
membername@clydebankrfc.com.
Therefore, if you would like to receive this once in a lifetime offer then please contact the webmaster for details.
Once you have email configured then you can set it up within your own email client or access it via web mail here using your assigned username and password.

CRFC SHOP OPENS FOR BUSINESS

The doors have now opened on our Merchandise Shop and members are encouraged to have a look and hopefully buy from the wide range of club merchandise (click on icon).  The shop currently shows a limited range but this will be expanded over the next week.
We would like to point out that items can still be ordered in time for Christmas so make sure all the family know about this link and hopefully your sack will be full for Christmas!!

We would also like to remind you about the general online shopping link at BUY.AT which is a gateway to a number of online shops.  The club receive a small commission on all sales that arise from purchases initiated online through this link.  You do not pay any more, all commission payments are part of advertising budgets.


 

Weekend Update (15th & 16th November 2008)

The 1stXV didn't play this weekend.  However, a mix of brave soles travelled to Cartha to play their 3B squad and lost 32-17.  ...more

The U14 squad played a match against Cartha but lost 14-11.

Next week the 1stXV play Birkmyre in the cup.

The U16 squad play Argyll while the U14 and Minis welcome Paisley to Whitecrook.
 

TOUR MEETING

A tour meeting to discuss next years tour destination, date, theme etc will be held after training next Thursday 20th November.  If you want to know what is going on or want a say then be there at 9pm in the bar at Whitecrook.
 

Weekend Update (8th & 9th November 2008)

The 1stXV started the cup season with an emphatic 56-12 win over Strathaven.  A number of changes allowed some of the up and coming 2ndXV players to show what they could do which they did in style.  ...more

The U16 match against Paisley was cancelled due to weather while the U14 squad played a mixed match with Lomond and Birkmyre with the match ending in a 17-17 draw.  Lomond also joined in with the Clydebank Titan Mini section to play against Birkmyre but poor weather conditions cut the matches short.

The club played its part in the Scotland International this weekend when Scott Kennedy from the U14 squad was chosen as a mascot for the Scotland team.  Scott ran out with the Scotland team and spent time chatting with the players after the match.

Next week there are no scheduled fixtures for the 1st XV or 2nd XV.

The U14 team and the Minis both travel to Paisley while the U16 team are away to Glasgow Hawks.
 

HALLOWEEN PARTY A SUCCESS

Thanks to Angela Andrew the Halloween party was a resounding success with money raised towards equipment and for the Youth section of the club.

Weekend Update (1st & 2nd November 2008)

The 1stXV continued their winning streak by beating Wigtownshire 24-10 and gained a bonus point in the process.  Meanwhile the 2nd XV put in an excellent performance against East Kilbride but went down 0-24.  Given the gulf between the two clubs this was an excellent performance.  ...more

The U14 and U16 squads were both in action this week with the U14's playing and beating Cartha at home 25-24 while the U16's travelled to Arran but lost out by 34-10.

Next week the 1st XV play Strathaven at home in the National Cup while the 2nd XV take a rest.

The U14 team and the Minis both take on Birkmyre who travel to Whitecrook while the U16 team are away next Sunday to Paisley.
 

Weekend Update (25th October 2008)

The Clydebank 2nd XV were the only survivors of the weather this weekend but lost out 22-0 away to Glasgow Accies.  ...more

The 1st XV play Wigtownshire next week at home while the 2nd XV are also at home to East Kilbride.

The U16 team are away next Sunday to Arran.

Next week the Minis (P1-P7) train at home while the U14 (S1/S2) team play Cartha at home.
 

Weekend Update (18th & 19th October 2008)

Clydebank struggled to overcome a determined Uddingston team but their team spirit, bar a few disagreements, proved to be their strength and they eventually ran out 17-24 winners and extend the recent good form to six wins.

The 2ndXV match was cancelled when Braidholm were unable to raise a team.



The 1st XV play Strathclyde Police next week at home while the 2nd XV are away to Glasgow Accies.

The U16 team played Cartha and lost out 0-24 with only fourteen men to a much bigger fifteen Cartha boys.  The boys were excellent in attack and defence and narrowly missed out on several tries.  More details can be viewed on the Youth Site.

Next week the Minis (P1-P7) are away to Lenzie while the U14 (S1/S2) team play Cartha at home.  The U16 team are scheduled to play a cup match.
 

A NEW ON-LINE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

Clydebank Rugby Club will soon be making a range of clothing available with Club Logo via an online catalogue.  This will include casual and sportswear for men, women and children.  With Christmas fast approaching this will provide a whole new source of present ideas for the family.

In addition the club has set up a link to various on-line shopping sites via the BUY.AT website (see link on homepage).  Any purchases via this site will result in a small contribution towards club funds.  Therefore, if you are planning any on-line shopping in the future please take at a look at this link first.
 

Weekend Update (11th & 12th October 2008)

Five in a row and top of the league.  The 1st XV broke yet another sequence of losses by beating Cumbernauld 19-9.  Unlucky for the 2nd XV who lost 0-67, but lets get to training and mimic the dedication obvious in the Cumbernauld 2nd XV.

The U14 (S1/S2) team played Helensburgh and won 8-18 away from home.  Additional training sessions for the S1/S2 have now been established on Tuesday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 to allow them to practice more.  More details can be viewed on the Youth Site.

The Minis combined with Loch Lomond Minis and also played Helensburgh fielding three combined teams at P4, P5 and P6/P7.  More details can be viewed on the Youth Site.

Next week the Minis (P1-P7) and the U14 (S1/S2) are at home for training.  The U16 team will take on Cartha away.

 

Weekend Update (4th & 5th October 2008)

Another win but no bonus point at Clydebank defeat GHK 0-9 away from home.  Once again, the weather was poor but the Clydebank team dominated the match and stopped GHK's run of big wins

The 2nd XV went down 10-63 to a much more experienced team but the youthful element to the Clydebank team is certainly promising for the future.

The 1st XV and 2nd XV both play Cumbernauld next week with the 1st XV at home and the 2nd XV away.

The U16 team lost out to Greenock who were the better team but were subjected to an unacceptable level of intimidation as they left the park.  The score was 5-30 with Jack Fraser scoring the only Clydebank points.

The U14 (S1/S2) team played Loch Lomond and lost out this time 0-24.  Additional training sessions for the S1/S2 have now been established on Tuesday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 to allow them to practice more.  More details can be viewed on the Youth Site.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

On Saturday 11th October there will be a players night out after the 1stXV home match against Cumbernauld.  Details available from Peter Watson.

All members are reminded that membership fees are due.  If you do not pay your way then you will not be insured and after the 31st October you will be ineligible to play.

LIONS TOUR 2009

It may be a long time away but now is the time to prepare for a trip of a life time.  Anybody interested in going to the Lions Tour of South Africa in June/July 2009 then please follow this link.
