A good start this time around although with the bad weather, sometimes absent
refereeing the game soon swung back to Waysiders who ended 34-0 winners made up
of six tries, three of which left the visiting crowd lost for words due to the
inability of the referee to keep up with play and witness the obvious
violations. The score flattered a poor Waysiders team who struggled to
handle the ball in the slippery conditions and who retained their physical
manner of play, something Clydebank appear to have lost long ago.
The game was enjoyed by the Clydebank players who put up a good display in
patches but failed to contain the bigger, more aggressive Waysiders.
The refereeing returned to its poor standard after last weeks excellent
display with the obvious difference being fitness and communication. This
week the referee failed to keep up with play and manage the aggressive play
resulting in often dangerous situations, one of which ultimately left one
Clydebank player in the changing room needing medical attention.
Although Waysiders could get promotion it may not happen and we could yet
meet them again next year. This is in the hands of teams like Marr, GHK
and the SRU who could yet screw with the leagues once more.
Apologies are due this week for the poor photographs, but I blame that on the
ref and the SRU as well!!
