This was supposed to be the first league game of the season but this has been put in doubt with Braidholm claiming it was a friendly due to their inability to provide an official referee even though one officiated over the neighbouring GHA 2ndXV game.  This situation only highlights the farce of associated clubs in Scotland as a GHA 2ndXV league game took precedence over a 1stXV league game for Braidholm.  The situation was further compounded when Braidholm sent a full strength squad to face the Clydebank 2ndXV while leaving fourteen to face the Clydebank 1stXV.  A more cynical mind may think that Briadholm already expected this game to be cancelled or its status to be changed.

Despite the organisational farce, the Clydebank 1stXV proceeded to take apart an inept Braidholm 1stXV.  A feast of tries provided a 5-90 score in favour of Clydebank.  At the 2ndXV game Clydebank matched the 1stXV effort defeating the Braidholm 2ndXV squad 34-5 while utilising a Clydebank referee.
