News Stories From 2005

Nov 05 We have a new poll for you this week.  A keen eyed member of the club spotted the remarkable resemblance between Scott and Big Wullie.  This has led to the question, were they separated at birth?

You decide here.

The firsts win their first game for a while when they beat Loch Lomond.  This pushed the 1st XV up to seventh place leap froging Paisley.

A freebie drinking session was laid on for the members after the Loch Lomond match by Diageo to sample their new Bourbon.  Everyone appears to have enjoyed themselves, well at least Moog did.

The members enjoyed a night out at the local Megabowl although very little skills were on show.  See the evidence here.

Club receive a running machine to add to their already full gym.

David Goode can be seen here trying it out.  Click on the picture to see David in full flight.

Oct 05 Weekly poll on Mr Smart.  The result of the Smart poll ended with the consensus being that his middle initial 'M' stood for BOB.

Well the poll for who is the SLC has been stopped with Mick Devlin Duncan being voted the most likely candidate with 33% of the popular vote.  Mr McCombe came second, although I think everyone would agree he is beyond such sneaky activities.  Mr Bell, who was our early leader in the poll, came third.

The Side Line Critic (SLC) caused a stir this month, and continues to do so with his outspoken opinion of our 1stXV's abilities.  Mr Mick Devlin Duncan was voted by the membership to be the most likely candidate although the search continues with Mr Holmes and Dr Watson taking up the case.

Cup game against Kinross Saturday 8th.

Pups game cancelled.  Next game for U16 and S1/S2 next Sunday 9th October.

19th Sept 05 New CRFC Chat Room introduced.

17th Sept 05 2nd team game called off.

1st XV lose 20-5 to Cumbernauld in a damp, poorly regulated affair away.

10th Sept 05 Clydebank beat Bishopton 40-26.

James Roberts celebrated the birth of his new son Mathew with a few sherberts in the local hostelries of Partick and the West End.  A good time was had by all and all present hope that young Mathew grows up to emulate his fathers outstanding contribution to Clydebank Rugby Football Club.
