CLYDEBANK 12 - Paisley 7
Report by
Gordon McCombe
The U16 squad
started their campaign against a Paisley team they had yet to beat since
first playing them several years ago. With the U16 players now training
with the senior squads they had matured over the summer and went into
the match playing more as a team than they had previously.
The result was an
excellent win 12-7 with tries from Douglas Vallance-Nairn and David
Kirkwood and a conversion from Jack McCombe. The Paisley team were a
large team who looked a daunting prospect for the Clydebank boys but as
the match progressed it was obvious they were not going to go down
without a fight. The match was a fast affair that saw Clydebank run
non-stop, chasing down and tackling the Paisley players at every
opportunity. The game was a great spectacle for all the Clydebank
support who were impressed by the progress the boys have made since last
season.
